The Almanack of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson
My Rating of “The Almanack of Naval Ravikant” by Eric Jorgenson: 10 / 10
It’s not often that I rate a book ten out of ten. Yet this Almanack isn’t really a book in its true sense. Rather, it is a collection/transcription of Naval Ravikant tweets, podcasts and interviews. Over the years Naval has dispensed his learnings, wisdom and perspective on all things wealth and happiness. The best part is that Eric Jorgenson has pulled all of this material together and you can download it for free!
After following Naval a couple of years ago on Twitter I find him one of the smartest and most succinct writers alive. The saying “if I had more time I would have written a shorter letter” always makes me think of Naval. Jorgenson has taken all of Naval’s outputs, quotes and sayings and put them into one place. The book itself is structured it into two mian parts: Wealth and Happiness. The many pages of genius are laid out to help the reader think differently on the definition of wealth and how to be truly happy.
As mentioned this book is free. Without hesitation you should download this book and read it (URL)! I will be re-reading this book time and time again – especially given its high wisdom per word count. Note, you can also follow Naval on Twitter (@Naval).
Three key takeaways from the book:
- You’re never going to get rich renting out your time.
- Forget rich versus poor, white-collar versus blue. It’s now leveraged versus un-leveraged.
- Happiness, love and passion…aren’t things you find – they’re choices you make.
Note: Picking just three things was extremely challenging for this book. Anyone who has read anything from Naval would get it.
